And yeah Danny flying and not seeing the ships is bad writing. Think about this. The men on the ships have to see where you flying at, man the big ass crossbow, take aim at you, then fire. There should of been plenty of time for her to spot them dudes out and for her to attack from the rear

Watch the scene again breh. They had just arrived at Dragonstone. Dropped anchors etc... everybody had their guard down. Yall keep referencing this as if Danys purpose was to be looking for ships at that point. She was joyriding and not even paying attention to what was below because she didn't think she had to be. I'm not even sure if we can gauge that Dany was high enough to see them around the bend they were sitting in, but it was a surprise attack at a moment where they didn't think they needed to be worried.

One of the earliest things I've learned in life is if you can see someone then they can see you too. We talking about ancient ships here. Not naval aircraft carriers with advanced anti aircraft weapons. Think about that breh....

When you think about how the direwolves are symbolic of their owners, it is not surprising Jon leaves Ghost. I kind of understood it when watching the show.

So, Ghost, unlike the other direwolves, is completely different looking. He's albino, right- with that white fur and red eyes. He looks like the Weirwood trees almost. Anyway, he symbolizes Jon's b*stard status as a Snow. He's like this symbol of the North, which Jon could claim before though he couldn't claim the Stark name.

The name of the episode was Last of the Starks, and Jon now knows he isn't a Snow either - he's a Targaryean (as far as his bloodline). It's almost like he is breaking with his old identity completely , especially since he has confessed this news to his family, the true Starks.

He tells Tormund to take Ghost back with him up north because direwolves have no place in the south. Sounds like the message they keep repeating about Starks not faring well in the south. We even hear Sansa telling Tyrion she doesnt want Jon to go south because her family doesn't do well there and Tyrion offers up again how Jon has denied his Stark heritage.

Anyway, it looked to me Jon was sad leaving Ghost, like a connection had been lost....or maybe Jon was just sad about having finally embraced his destiny and all the fukkery that is about to come with him going to KL. He was leaving a piece of himself behind, maybe. Then we see "his" dragon Rhaegal get killed....maybe this is all foreshadowing for him or something. I also got the feeling his was isn't coming back to Winyerfell. Or perhaps if Ghost goes back wandering in the great North at the end, so will Jon.

I'm not excusing the underdeveloped writing of the directors but sometimes, in spite of its imperfections, you can kind of see what they may be trying to show....

Or maybe I'm trying to find depth where there is none because of the underdeveloped writing :yeshrug:

What part of NO SPOILERS OR LEAKS DO YOU ALL NOT UNDERSTAND?

There has already been 4 people banned for spoilers in the "Endgame" thread. Now I see some of you:

1. Openly posting spoilers.

2. Trying to pass spoilers off as "theories".

Do you not understand other people that know the spoilers....know you're posting spoilers?

So when you get banned, don't be surprised. There has been 4 people reported for posting spoilers since last night.

Fred.

There will be wars to come whether The North wants to be an independent nation again or not. There'll always be a Southern Conqueror wanting to unite the kingdoms. There'll always be enemies of the North, hell, enemies of the Starks themselves from years past.

You said it yourself, The Starks have made hella mistakes, yet the restoration of the Starks honor is an ongoing theme.

Sansa snitches to Cersei about Ned's plans to "out" her and Jamie's dirty little secret, and it ultimately gets Ned killed. But through trial, hardship, tribulation and wisdom, Sansa's honor is restored as she's the leader of The North. Honor restored.

Robb Stark promises to marry a Frey daughter, betrays Walder Frey because he falls inlove with ol girl. It ends up getting him killed and getting plenty of Northmen killed, but his honor is always kept alive in memory. And Arya gets payback. Honor restored.

Arya joins the faceless assassins. Constantly refuses to become "no one" and keeps acting on emotion. She survives The Waif, gets her sight back and his sent on her merry way with cool new fighting skills. Honor restored.

Jon Snow(Aegon Targaryen) gets sent to the wall, goes beyond the wall and betrays his oaths, joins the wildlings and takes them in. Gets stabbed up for betraying his Oath, and gets risen from the grave and gets his revenge and gets to dessert the nights watch. And is viewed as a hero in the eyes of many. Honor restored.

But Dany has to constantly answer for mistakes and flaws in strategy as if she didn't unite all Khalasar under one rule and take them across the sea for the first time in history. She birthed dragons into the world for the first time in hundreds of years. Freed thousands of slaves and conquered cities. But she constantly has to prove and prove and prove as if the Starks are faultless. The Starks arc is forever wrapped in Honor.
The Sansa shyt never happened and you're reaching with a bunch of the other shyt.

“Even though we have years of lore built in ... ah fukk it lets have Arya kill the night king”

Just after discussing troop movements and their opponents, “lets have Dany forget about the Euron and the iron fleet”

:mjlol:

Make decisions on a whim brehs

I'm actually ok with Arya doing that kill, wasn't story book ending type stuff but I can see her character pulling that ninja shyt off. Now, we can argue that doing all that in 1 episode doesn't feel as rewarding, specially considering the stakes the show built regarding the White Walkers.

This goes back to D&D wanting to wrap this shyt up ASAP for no other reason that they just want to wrap it up. They built impossible stakes for Cercei vs Dany and Humanity vs White Walkers, so much so that the only way to give resolutions to both conflicts quickly was a) strip Dany of all her power by any means possible, which meant destroying Tyrion as "the smart one" on the show and b) get rid of the WW threat in 1 gigantic battle because there wasn't any more time and money for anything else.

But the killing blow to the NK has never been an issue with me :manny:

Everything about this season has been horrible

They dumbed all the smart characters down for no other reason then to push silly storylines

They’re trying to act like all of a sudden Sansa goofy ass is smart & strategic :comeon:

They are trying to force this mad queen bullshyt on Dany even though they spent years building her up to be the complete opposite

I haven’t seen writing this bad since i used to watch The 100 a few years ago

I hope these dudes aren’t writing the spinoff because if they are then I definitely wont be tuning in

The Sansa shyt had me :mindblown:

"She's like Littlefinger, she knows what telling Tyrion will result in".

Not only was that not conveyed on screen AT ALL (kinda impossible to figure that shyt out unless you are told so by the creators), but you mean to tell Sana is putting all her moves on Jon's claim, who doesn't want to rule, to save and keep the North? When she already doesn't have any military and fukking Dany up might mean giving Cercei the W? And when she hasn't trusted Jon the whole show and hasn't been able to pull his strings any way whatsoever? :why:

It does seem Sansa will end up keeping the North at the very least, probably having HUGE pull in all of Westeros. But betraying Jon's confidence to pull of a move that wont really change anything is :wtf: I mean, Dany was going to become mad queen at this point regardless of what Varys and Tyrion thought or tried to do - and much of what drove Dany mad was because of the incompetence those two showed since her arrival on the continent - and that was going to lead to a confrontation with Jon regardless of what Sansa could do about it.

It felt like the nth time D&D were like "welp :manny:" and kept it moving.

Episode was both enjoyable & entertaining. It just feels like the logic and realism of how shyt plays out has been removed at this point. Instead, fukkery, entertainment, and quick resolutions has been subbed in.

It's a TV Show to me so it aint that serious:ehh::yeshrug:. I'm still excited to see how it plays out. But I can definitely see the switch from the ultra realism and cause & effect type logical writing seen in earlier seasons. To the now setup and payoff entertainment TV model which is standard fare.
