So basically the response I see is everyone that blew their load last year on the Note 2 and S3 are sticking with their stuff. I passed all of that up so I don't owe that stuff my loyalty...I'm due and I haven't seen this HTC One gimmick do anything of note that counts except have a sturdy build, which was something I used to with the N1. Doesn't matter. I don't drop phones and I'm getting a case no matter what.

:what:

Why the hell would a rational human being leave the Note 2 for this?

There is no reason to leave the note 2 or GS3 for the GS4. They are essentially the same phone. The GS4 has some improved software that will probably make its way to the GS3 and Note 2 one way or another.

LOL@the whining and hating..I've waited long enough. I will have what I want and what I want is the elite phone from Samsung: S4.

I keep seeing build quality concerns..do you cats get drunk every week and drop your phones all the time? I've only dropped this phone like 4x and it was on carpet and my case took the hit anyway.

:to:

where's the innovation at? :rudy:

this is the S3s...at least Apple doesn't lie to you and tell you it's a brand new iteration.

What do expect the One to do? GS4 is a nice buts its all gimmicks. Its like they throw every feature they could think off to see what sticks. The only downside to that it is some of the features is half baked and/or will hardly ever be used.

That depends on if you have a lazy user who don't know what they are doing. Limited scope basically.

My guess is that you will get more use out of the HTC One's Zoe and dual front facing speakers than any of the gimmicks introduced for the GS4.

There are plenty of times I have thought to myself that I wanted louder speakers on my phone. I've never wanted or desired to do any of the things that the GS4 is offering. Also, the One has an IR Blaster and will work as a remote also.

Does that HTC One have that beautiful translator? That will come in handy..type, it speaks for you, they speak, and it writes it in English to you. That's NICE.

If it doesn't, there are plenty of apps that will do the same thing. Looking around the net after the announcement, most people to like the One better so far. :leon:

What else were you really expecting though?

Everyone knew it was getting a bigger screen. And in doing that they've made the device lighter and thinner phone.

I guess Samsung spoilt people these last 3 years with there Galaxy range and people expected some all singing and dancing device that can turn water into wine

The translator is very nice, however, there are apps that do that. Also, how often do you really need to get things translated?

Now:

The HTC One has one of the best low light cameras. How often do you take pictures in clubs and bars and low light areas?

The HTC One has loud front facing speakers. How often do you watch videos on your phone without a head set?

The HTC One has Zoe which I think is awesome:

The One has a better screen.

The One has better, vastly superior, build quality.

I am just saying. I do like the GS4 software but I just wonder how often I would actually use it and how well it works. Gizmondo and a few other sites claim some of the features don't work too well. I do think the multi-camera video calls might be nice although I don't think I'd use it often but you never know. I rarely use video calls as it is.

:snoop:I feel bad for htc they make good ass phones and gets ignored.

This is Samsung's night so they will get all the press. HTC has a real opportunity here but they have to advertise the hell out of the HTC One to get mind share. Most people aka non enthusiast want the the S3/Note 2 because of the commercials being rammed down there throats day in and day out.

Samsung confirms plans to bring some Galaxy S 4 features to Galaxy S III | PhoneDog

Just as I said most of the new features will come to GS3/Note 2. No need to upgrade if you just got these phones.
