That's true for anybody though so I never get that point like folks make it some black thing. That shyt reeks of silliness and or someone who only hangs around blacks(or whatever race a person is) in a majority of situations.
It's not a black thing. The "crabs in a barrel" mentality is resonant among all races of people. However, it's pointed out more by Blacks (rightfully so) when Blacks do it amongst each other because we of all people shouldn't be keeping each other down.

My guy its a human trait so regardless of the reasoning people going to still do it because that's how people are. That's all I'm saying. He didn't state it was exclusive to Black people. He made a point that it's more disappointing that Black people engage in such behavior...especially considering our history and plight.
What he said is no different than whata lot of other Black folks say during their conversations.
