He still 40. He's NOT the same fighter he was when he was 25 or even 30. He has nothing the prove. The only reason why he's taking this fight is because of the payday. He's no threat to knock anyone out. He's not going to engage. He is going to outpoint nikkas and try not to take a lot of punches.
Floyd is getting back on name recognition and legacy. That's IT. Nothing wrong with that but this entire fiasco started with nikkas talking shyt on social media. A manufactured beef. And now they're about to cash in.
If Floyd was serious about his legacy he would fight someone like GGG. But he would never do that because he's 40 years old with nothing left to prove in the sport. Sad really.

How many boxers who have been in the game for years that will never get an opportunity to get a pay day like this. McGreggor hasn't earned the right to come up like this in boxing
The UFC let outsiders in because they had no choice. The UFC will let in WWE wrestlers and Kimbo Slice out of desperation. Boxing doesn't have to. Canelo vs. GGG should be the biggest fight since Floyd vs. Pac but boxing as a whole has failed to sell the sport or its fighters.
I dont look at it as being disrespectful tbh. I dont consider this a boxing match. The main problem is this should be labeled as an exhibition because that is all it is. Dana White and Floyd have had this in works for years. They mutually agreed that it would only happen after Floyd "retired". BY the same token you think its bad for boxing, its good for boxing. Go back years ago and read about all the chatter between Floyd and Dana. MMA has become a popular sport. We need some of those eyes over here. Boxing fans will watch it...whether we pay for it or stream it.

Lets not get carried away. As a sports fan, Canelo/GGG is the better event, cuz anything can happen.
Mayweather is going to spar for 12 rnds. I doubt he'll even try to knock McGregor. The only way this fight can even be mildly entertaing is if McGregor just throws haymakers all night and never gets tired.
