I played 2 games on manual now, I like it a lot better, way more realistic. Won 1-0 and lost 2-1. Not too difficult of a transition though

In FIFA 12 every player has great ball control even at full speed. In FIFA 10, if you wasn't careful you could lose the ball. This is why you got less loose balls and why people cheese with CR7. They need to bring this back or the game is going to always play like an arcade game and not a simulation.

Brehs, I need some advice for that FUMA shyt : it seems I can only pass on a 45° axis (ie diagonal or orthogonal), is my controller the problem or is it the same for everybody ? It irks me because I often pass behind a running player or too far in front of him, what's y'all advices ? How did you do to master that Manual stuff ?
I'm stuck on auto mode because I can't get my Barca on when I'm on FUMA...

Thats the point. The 45 degree axis is pretty much the same for me at long distance, but in tight spots, i can hit passes anywhere with at low power.
Just practice more against the computer and you'll be alright.

I feel like they did, at least with the first touch and the ball can get away you a bit when sprinting. Play the demo

Is first touch control only a factor when they first get the ball?

I mean, I've had someone do cut backs 10 times in front of my goal, until he can get a shot off. You couldn't do that in PES or FIFA 10, you would lose control of the ball. FIFA 12 plays like an arcade game, and I think its because EA is trying to make the game more accessible. Ball physics is awful, this is PES bread and butter.

The impact engine is a joke, I've had players run into a player and go 1 or 2 yards the other way or go crashing into the ground. Does this happen in soccer, I've never seen that before.

FIFA hasn't been close to being a simulation for years now. Just enjoy the game and exploit the exploitable. Usually when I lose is when I make a concerted effort to play as the teams do in real life. FIFA doesn't reward slow building from the back and such.
