Why are people so ready to blame Idom's character choice rather than his play? That sounds a lot like excuses.
He's always going on about how SF6 was "solved" since the the beta, how nobody is ever in the training room because there is absolutely nothing to lab, etc, etc.
But like half the time I tune into any of the bigger Asian SF6 streamers they'll be drilling in the training room for hours without even queuing.
Do you really think Idom put in more work with his Balatro+Rocksmith training regiment than his competition?
About a week ago Punk was saying the same thing about Idom (in his very own eloquent way); Idom gets in his own head and blames the game for things that are unironically a skill issue (except Perfect Parry, Punk agrees that is bullshyt), such as checking a Drive Rush.
Idom will say something like "See? I knew exactly what he was going to do! I even called it out!", but just because you know what your opponent is going to do does not mean you should win the interaction based on that alone. It is still a fighting game, you still have to respond correctly fast enough.
