Dude I said this in the other thread.... Did Mitch even make a phone call at all in all of this? Did he even do anything? This was gonna happen anyway. All throughout history everything literally falls in their laps and they never ever have to give up anything. ANYTHING! Small markets supposedly hate how the big market Lakers get what they want but for some reason in the end they bend over backwards to accommodate them. why? this shyt makes no sense whatsoever

small markets are stil paralyzed by the thought of "getting something >>> getting nothing at all"

Orlando didn't get shyt though, those draft picks are trash.. they have to fully-fully-fully tank/throw games so that their own first rounders become lotto picks. I think they're fukked for eons. You build a new arena, you have to have something for the Orlando fans to come out and see. Even the Nets deal was better than this.

Yes they did. They get Noel, Zeller, or Shabazz Muhammad. Sounds good to me. The bolded won't even be that hard. If they wanna lose, they'll lose. If they wanna win, they'll still lose. The picks are just extra. They've already got 3 young players on the team in their front court. They just need young guards to rebuild with.

The Magic get to suck for 2-3 years and stockpile picks while allowing 3 rookies to develop (2 of em top 20 picks). They also shed some salary and give a new GM and head coach a clean slate. Unfortunately they can't just fast forward and sim the season, so Magic fans are shyt outta luck. I know. I've been there, but they're not gonna win. They're not gonna pretend to win. They're not half-assing rebuilding. I can respect that. If Hennigan can't draft and his scouts suck then they'll be awful. If he's as smart as people say he is, then they're the 2013 New Orleans Hornets.

All the stars have to align for this shyt too work. And the Hornets already had Eric Gordon, Kaman(now on Dallas), Ariza, and some nice pieces to work with. Trust me I know about shytty seasons and trying to draft right just as much as the next guy. that's been the Clipps M.O. for decades. That shyt isn't a lock breh

All the stars needing to align is a prerequisite to rebuilding. Luck is why Sam Presti and R.C. Buford are who they are and why other GM's aren't GM's anymore.

And that cost them CP3. 2 of those 3 players are gone and the other one's heart is probably still in Phoenix. If they didn't get Anthony Davis, nobody would be drooling over what their future could be.

But when you get it right, you get Blake Griffin. You get pieces that can land you a superstar. That's what Orlando has to do, and nobody was gonna hand them that caliber of player for Dwight Howard, not with the way Dwight restricted their options.

Stern and the league owned the Hornets so they had to be taken care of if they wanted a buyer to scoop them up.

And Even as a Clipps fan I have to admit that we got lucky with that #1 pick to get Griffin. That literally fell in our laps.. and even that was sketchy because he missed his first season with the broken kneecap. Then people remembered that the Clipps play in LA and the Hollywood shine came into play. You get the same perks as playing for the Lakers minus the banners. Orlando doesn't really have that shine. I've been there before and its ho hum.

-the stars have to align for the Magic to regroup from this. They have to be mistake free and flawless from here on out if they want to become a relevant team again.
