My Dinner with Ali
This was so good. Felt like I was in the diner with them, through the funny moments and even the grounded, candid moments. I hate seeing my girl Rue like that....she's so miserable right now and I hope she can bounce back on her feet.
I hope this episode drives home to a lot of folks that this show is more than just a cinematography showcase and that there's genuine, authentic dialogue to complement the emotions that run through each character. That being said, I was still impressed with how good this looked despite being a dialogue-heavy episode. That A24 gloss is something else.
This bridge episode restored the feeling, but really had me looking forward to season two more than ever. With Kelvin Harrison Jr. joining the ride, this is going to be some of the best television has to offer and HBO may just run away with the Emmys again.
