The way he explained the breakdown of old traditional economies into monoculture economies or flat out slave industries and stoked divisions and turned the Africans against each other was so haunting. I felt every level of fukked up for our ancestors reading that shyt.

To your point on mineral exploitation, The Looting Machine by Tom Burgis is fantastic. shyt is depressing as fukk. If you read Aurundhati Roy’s Capitalism a Ghost Story to see how this all ties globally you’ll be down in the dumps. :russ:

The greatest scholar I've ever had the pleasure of reading and listening to.

This man was a genius in every meaning of the word.

Truly a great gift to black academics worldwide. We need to apply the work he has left. All of the divisional topics on this site and people still don't get it. We are suffering everywhere!

At what point does unity of our inheritance come forth and we rid ourselves of not controlling our own destiny?

Black people deserve all the hardship we're receiving for not honoring our Ancestors. His style is diametrically opposite for the last two generations toappreciate. The Talented Tenth (so to speak) are the only ones to appreciate this man. Who in the TLR is going to listen to a 2-4 hour lecture with no cursing, music, sex or gossip? The Dear Prophet Amos Wilson (pbuh) forces one to do deep research of the public domain in order to peep game. Dry. No conspiracy foolishness. No messiness. Kneegrows arms are too short to box with The Prophet.

I listen to his lectures weekly closing in on 10 years now.

Other times it's to learn, other times it's to remind me of what I'd forgotten, but more and more it's just to marvel at his genius.
Dr Amos N Wilson is the smartest person I've ever come across.

He never missed a beat and left no stone unturned.
I would love to hear the full extent of his life story, dark skinned unmixed Black in Mississippi, to ending up in Harlem....I'd love to hear those close to him tell us about his life

Baba Amos is the graduate levels of this Black consciousness shyt. Like Malcolm, once you’ve heard his words you can’t go back.

Have you seen the interview with Baba Sababu?
He speaks a little on Dr. Amos' movement from Mississippi to the lecture circuit. I watched this awhile ago so I can't provide timestamps. Whole thing is worth listening as he fits Amos into the pantheon of the scholars and lecture circuit giants.

:ohhh:

He was going to open up a credit union before he passed. Started recruiting for positions and couldn't find black people willing to take higher-end positions. Said he put his ego aside and would let someone else run it.

This man was doing it all.

He made no money from his books, all the sales generated were put back to the think tank organisation he was running.

Imagine that.
Writting the best books ever written on black people and donating all the money back

Michael Parenti was the first person to claim publicly that Walter Rodney was killed.

His stuff is right up the alley of thinking of Amos Wilson and I tend to wanna study power systems, social system, history etc from a wide range of people... Which is what I learned from Dr Wilson.
