it was a masterpiece. infinity war gave us the non stop action and one of the greatest storylines of a villain portrayed on screen. however, endgames ability seamlessly to weave together 20+ films and play on our connections/emotions made with the stars of those films makes at minimum equal to IW.

watch it three times and focus on IM, Cap and Thor each time and it all really comes full circle
I have to admit, now that I just finished watching (this is the third time), I was too hard on this film. My eyes watered a few times ,Tony obviously, but Thor's interaction with his mom got to me. Even Black Widow's arc struck a chord. I stand by Infinity War being better, but End Game was a fitting cap to an amazing undertaking by Marvel. I still haven't watched Captain Marvel yet:skip:I would fire it up now, but ya boy has to catch the new Mandalorian episode.

To any nikkas tryna change my mind about Infinity War vs End Game, I have spoken:mjlit:

You're joking right? Not even close.

*Coughs* Darth Vader, Hans Gruber, Hannibal Lecter, Alex (Clockwork Orange), Harry Powell, Amy Dunne, Annie Wilkes, Noah Cross, etc etc etc... *Coughs*

some of those villains you mentioned had several movies to stretch out their depth and arc as a villain.

i do admit they are all great villains though.

also you have to specify performance vs storyline, i mentioned the latter and im sure people would argue down thanos performance wise based on him not being an actual actor

IW focused on the villain for 2+ hours and ended with him as a hero smiling in peace on a setting sun, that was impressive

and if you want to nitpick, you just listed 8 people. not even close? i know you listed etc etc but i would presume thanos would still be in your top percentile when you look at how many film villains there actually are

semi related hannibal is probably the greatest on that list when you look at time on screen compared to impact, atleast for me

im sure there are already several threads on villains im just too lazy too look but wouldnt be a bad topic to re explore

the Russo Brothers are 100% correct. they are 2 completely different movies and i understand why its not p1 and p2.

Rewatching End Game right now, and god am I gonna miss Robert Downey Jr. :mjcry:I'm a vocal believer that Infinity War is the far superior film, but he killed every damn second of his screentime in End Game:wow:

IW = Ready 2 die
EG = Life After Death

The latter has some flaws and some filler and is largely going to be considered the weaker of the two, but it's a different experience and very very dope on it's own merits.

I get kinda soggy at the same parts every time lol, especially seeing people in the theater legit bawling.

I hope RDJ is proud of himself and not ashamed that this is as big as it may get for him...yeah, pursue more challenging roles and passion projects, but you did that shyt bro.
