I didn't even watch the last season. I read the episode summaries and came in here to see the reactions. My dude @bravaDo was defending this shyt with the utmost vigor. :laff:

I may eventually watch Season 8 in the background while I do shyt on my computer. Since I don't really need to play attention to it.

I salute the writers of Dexter tho. GOAT trolls :troll: :wow:

Turns out Showtime told the Dexter writers not to kill off Dexter. :what:
While everyone left the Dexter finale satisfied—having at last seen the story of a serial killer who’s secretly working inside a police station reach the conclusion it had been naturally building toward for eight seasons, by having everyone inside that police station still think Dexter’s awesome while he goes off to become a lumberjack—it turns out this was just one of several endings the show could have had, some of them possibly not even involving lumber.

Showtime is on the fast track to becoming the WOAT network. I guarantee they run "Homeland" into the ground.

What the hell is the point of keeping Dexter alive if the show is over?

Pretty much, season 8 should have not happened. I liked the ending, but they could have squeezed that into season 7.

Him getting caught and arrested would have been a better way to go for season 8. The buildup for his arrest was perfect when he killed LaGuerta. Now you would have Batista, Debra, Matthews and Quinn all in the mix, so it would have been a good hunt in season 8.

:krs: at taking your sister's dead body and burying her at sea like she's fukking Abu Nazir, so her friends don't get the opportunity to pay their respects

:russ:at escaping a hospital while carrying a dead body

:dwillhuh:at no one questioning why Dexter was at sea during a hurricane

:heh:at Dexter leaving Harrison with a serial killer

:banderas:at no one questioning where Harrison was after his father went missing and was presumed dead

:mjlol:at Dexter becoming a lumberjack

:lolbron:at Breaking Bad ending around the same time and making Dexter's shytty ending even more apparent.

I personally thought they ran it (Homeland) into the ground season 2, same with House of Lies. They both had great first seasons. Maybe they can come back though, or at least I tell myself.

Still pissed at the last season.

I could've forgiven Season 5 & 6 if Season 8 ended a different way but they had to tarnish GOAT potential.

Harrison getting a boo boo and Hannah taking him to the hospital was an ultimate :beli: moment.

The entire Vogel storyline was corny. I hated almost every scene she was in.

The entire punk ass mini Dexter storyline. (I thought Dexter decided for good that he could be the only one of his kind in Season 3?) Old Dexter would've immediately recognized him as a liability.

Harry used to be written much better.

Deb thrown in the bushes (the reef in this case) as a cop out ending where Showtime didn't give proper closure on the only character people stilled cared about. Not killing him was p*ssy sh1t, flat out.

Its still a personal classic I just wish the original showrunner could've stayed on. Last good episode in my opinion was the one in S7 with the Doakes flashbacks that showed Dexter analyzing the crime scene as if he was there himself. (Maybe he was, I don't remember.)

I would not want any of those cops investigating shyt on my behalf. :heh: It seems like the only time any of them actually knew what they were doing was when they happened to be suspcious of Dexter. Of course that usually led to death or in Quinn's case just forgetting about the whole thing because you are sprung over his sister. :laff:

Should have known it was gonna be some bullshyt when they completely glossed over Laguerta's death. A police captian dies and it's :manny: "On with business as usual". They had a golden storyline right there and they completely botched it. :snoop:

For the spinoff/ movie. There is no way you have an ending like that if you don't intend to revisit the character in some fashion.

The Dexter writing staff. This explains a lot.

That really does explain everything. It's perfectly clear why that season was more so focused on the love triangle betweeen Dexter, Deb, and Hannah and less focused on logic, consistency, and actually trying to make sense. I get it now. :ehh:
