You don't know a single thing about the bolded at all. Nobody does. If characters carry over between games, you don't know if it'll be like the .hack series or if it will be nothing more than a Mass Effect cosmetic + previous achievement carry over.

And exotics are being carried over and likely modified to match. Legendaries, to some extent are staying as they are but they won't be useful in the events that 2.0/TTK is designed around. That's standard for any MMO-like upgrade. Guys from WoW got stuff from Lich King that they keep just to mess around with. But that's all that it is. Collector's gear in its own right.

That's right, nobody does. They specifically said your character(s) and progress will go with you throughout what they have planned for destiny so all I can do is take that at face value

The gear thing is still up in the air I guess because I'm not the only one who feels the way I do. The players are speaking up, bungie responded and they have been listening so we will see.

The gunplay is still the best in any FPS out. They've made a lot of little tweaks here and there that, outside of exotics (which is going to be thoroughly handled on the 8th), is actually in a pretty decent spot right now.
The RNG and generally payoff for activities has improved TREMENDOUSLY since Vanilla. There's almost no comparison. Before it'd take a week to get a legendary that you can't even choose the perks for then another load of hours to grind the materials needed to upgrade it fully - not the case at all anymore. You can get all the materials for upgrade through the normal activities of the game basically.
Strikes got touched up a bit, but they'll be improved a lot after 2.0/TTK
Crucible actually gives you shyt.
The little options such as fireteam stuff, chat, raid checkpoints, etc are too many to list imo.

Its been a big change. Kinda like Diablo 3 at release vs Diablo 3 2.0 patch

You're better than me. I haven't seen Etheric Light mentioned ANYWHERE in the new update stuff so I refuse to look for it anymore. All the best IB stuff was before HoW too imo so meh. Props to you for sticking it out in there though. IB is still a laggy mess full of cheese.

With the new progress system, won't people be able to hit max rank with any piece of armor? There might be even more variety with builds in TKK for regular Crucible
