I'm like level 65, but i did a strength build so i have no magic resistance. I can get him down to the last little bit of his life but he sends out the arrow attack. If I roll around him to dodge arrows he catches me with the AOE from his teleport. He's giving me more grief than any other boss so far.

for the 2nd phase (when he is fire) the arrows you have to completely run away from them, you cant roll you have to run

dont go near him when he teleports it takes half your health, its not worth the damage you can inflict

heres a tip if you hide behind the pillars you can bait out a slow but powerful attack he will destroy the pillars, dodge that and I think you can attack him

attack his body not the slug tail, I think it does more damage

dont spam roll when those little crystals are coming, they converge near the end and track you so wait till the last second and roll

if you stay near his physical body he will either do arrow (if he does run AWAY and cnstantly move laterally, not in a straight line) if he doesnt do arrows he will do his phsyical swipe attack which leaves him wide open for a bunch of damage if you dodge

basically whenn he does arrows just completely forget about trying to stay near him or attack him just unlock from him and run

you gotta be patient against him

am i the only one that doens't use the shield? I can't seem to shake off the combat style from Bloodborne, and do magic help?

I'm on cathedral of the deep. my character is on level 35-40 (can't remember) and i've mainly focused on strength/health. i also have some dexterity upped too.

i feel like my character is weak, but it's hard to get souls in this game.

I never used a shield and I beat the game twice. I played exactly like bloodborne (roll to dodge, attack, repeat)

cathedral of the deep is annoying af.

if you wanna do a melee build, I think quality (str/dex) is the strongest

Dont level up your dex and str past 40. aim for 40 str 40 dex 30 HP(vigor) 30 Endurance and then stop leveling so you can pvp after

the best build is str/dex

pure str is weaker because you completely lose dex scaling when you use heavy gem

refined gem keeps both

and greatsword is kinda garbage, you should try and get the dark sword its dropped by dark wraiths.

i suggest you start pumping dex and go quality instead of pure str but its up to you

best way to get souls is to farm them by killing all the enemies around a bonfire, rest and repeat

or fighting bosses

a good place to farm souls is anor lando. kill 3 knights in less than 2 minutes, circle back to bonfire for a quick 10000 souls

Is there any way to get the covenants to summon you more often? I've been summoned a handful of times but barely compared to my play time and I've flipped different banners to try different squad, Watchdogs has been the best for me.

Also, I got combat down pretty well but swiping attacks with wide range still seem to catch me no matter how well I time my damned rolls. Might start trying to time parries on 'em.
