So my wife gave me the green light to pull 1k from one of our investment accounts to possibly invest in CC. I really like Ethereum, but I see the price dropping. What amount do ya'll think is a good one to jump in on?

I was thinking around 150 to 160...

man just checked the ethereum chart for today, it dropped all the way to like 145! volatility of these cryptos is crazy. 150-160 is reasonable i think, it might drop a lil more over the weekend going into memorial day but doesnt really matter if you're trying to hold it for a year.

anyone buying any altcoins other than ethereum? all of them seem to be going up the past few weeks, might be a good time to buy some of the shyttier ones for bigger potential gains.

You're dumb if you believe in this guys :troll:
I told you in December when it was hovering around 1000 that this is silly :troll:
And now at $2200 it's silly still :troll:
You know you don't make any money unless you sell :krs:
You're just playing with lunch money, not 7 figures of real estate like me :troll:

@Adam3000 and @88m3 need to hold your L's

I haven't gotten into the crypto currency area yet, but I'm looking to getting in the game. I was trying to register on coin-base as I've seen most people have been using that site (seen it here and on the misc where I post), but I keep getting the "try in 24 hours" message.

How is Poloniex? I'm looking to take $10,000 from checking and about another $15,000 from my Fidelity account and put that into some of these crypto currencies to start. Is that a pretty reliable exchange?

Just an FYI you can only purchase $500 worth of CC per week on coinbase, I'm not sure if it's different for other platforms though.

:whoa:

Slow down there buddy, it is currently at it's all time high. When did you plan to trade? Bitcoin can drop to half it's value if you look at it's history. There are going to be a LOT of people cashing out here in the coming weeks because of it's value.

I use Poloniex and it is solid, but as a reminder you never should keep these in exchanges after purchasing. Store it yourself.

Not saying I'm going all in, but I do want to put a decent amount of that money into it. I set up my account on coinbase last night after it kept giving me errors and I just put a small amount in with my debit card transaction. Waiting for them to verify my bank account.

I have my stocks through fidelity comma but I want to dabble in this with an amount that I'd be willing to risk right now. In my situation, if I lose what I put in, I could live with it, so it's a risk that I'm personally willing to take. However, I won't just go all in.
