Don't know what they will do in the crossover but in the run-up to the comic book Crisis series, The Anti-Monitor was popping up in various DC Comics doing all sorts of shady looking stuff that made him look villainous.

Harbinger ended up killing him the comics, but I really wouldn’t be surprised if they switched it up rather than sticking to the source material.

The ending scene in Supergirl with Luthor, The Monitor and Malefic J'onzz made me more convinced than anything that he’s the Anti-Monitor. I totally understand Lex is needed for the Crisis, but what purpose does Malefic serve?

I’m also more curious how they make Black Lightning apart of the crossover without having him become part of the Arrowverse. The showrunner is adamant that it remains in a separate universe and hates Batman with a passion, so we will see how it goes.
