I busted myself up pretty good this morning on an uneven path :dead:

Lucky I got my arms down, my face/teeth good this time :blessed:

Live to ride another day:blessed:

Hope you were riding into a headwind cos you weren't moving at all :russ:

I think I might have been windy that day. I didn't have my bodycam so I had to whip out my phone. The video was for my boy to convince him to get his ass out there. So I'm riding with one hand, phone in front of my face.

Dope! Thanks for sharing. It's so weird seeing beautiful weather in the US while I have snow outside my window.

I got questions lol
  1. Where do you live. I'm guessing a southern state because of the weather and swamps/marshes that you are cutting through?
  2. Does that bike path ever get crowded or is it typically quiet AF
  3. Have you ever had any cycling run-ins with the critters or do they mostly steer clear?
  4. In terms of infrastructure, does the bike path save time compared to a car to get from Point A to Point B or is it more of a scenic route?

This is old video. I can't remember if it was Spring, summer or Autumn.

This ride was in Omaha ne, nothing but flat plains out there. I ride when I'm there. I also ride when I'm in KC, and Illinois.

The bike path gets packed, like lots of people using it. Either walking, running/jogging, riding, roller/inline skating...the nicer it is the more people. Plus there's events, like every Thursday is the Taco ride. There's multiple spots off the trail that serve tacos, so cats hop on the trail from wherever theyre at and end up riding to a spot, get some tacos and beers and ride home. I don't drink but I'll go to those a couple times a year. They have a city sponsored night ride, so people and families all hit the trail at night. Like 9pm to 11pm.

As far as infrastructure I take the trail to work on my bike. There's 2 routes. One is like 15/16 mi the other is 25mi. So sometimes I'll ride the long way to work and back home.

I see animals all the time, deer, skunks, turtles, snakes, beavers, groundhogs, of course squirrels and rabbits, racc00ns, geese, the most annoying is grasshoppers. Like after it rains or something they just swarm the trail, right on the riding path, and when you ride by them they jump you, jump off your bike. They absolutely can't hurt you but it's annoying as shyt. It turns what should be a calm right into fear factor on wheels. The animals steer clear for the most part. There was one time some deer ran along side my bike, and a time a bird was flying above my head just flowing with me.

The Taco Ride sounds dope. We have similar stuff here but unless it's in your neighborhood, you probably wouldn't find out about it. I'll embed myself a lil deeper into the cycling community this year... I've kicked it with the people that like to ride for fun once or twice a month which is too casual for me. I don't think I'm quite ready for the crew that defines who they are as a person via their bicycles, but I'm sure I can find a middle ground.

:russ:

Along the bike path, all I get is flocks of (extremely unbothered/indifferent) Canadian Geese and the occasional squirrel. I'm realizing now by comparison that my city bike path runs along the occasional beach but it's mostly cement/man-made structure.
