OMG. The climate of the 20th century is gone and our infrastructure could not even support that. The 2 NC US Senators voted against the infrastructure bill. Warmest oceans on record lead to this. Yet millions will stupidly vote for candidates who claim climate change is a joke.

Went to help in the Lake Lure/Chimney Rock area today, and it’s hard to describe - never seen anything like this. Post apocalyptic. It’s so overwhelming you don’t even know how to fathom what recovery looks like, let alone where to start. Going to be a long path to recovery that all levels of stakeholders are going to be needed.

Climate change is not a joke. Thinking you are going to stop a natural cycle is the joke.

@AlexSteffen
All true.

@bluedog373
The 1916 flood was climate change too. We just didn't know then.

@Batcore1
It is so ridiculous that the left sees hurricane and tornados that have literally always happened and think it’s a sign of end times but the literal book of revelation is unfolding daily and they don’t bat an eye

@HowieLongggg
If you want to convince people about climate change, rebuild everything without using any fossil fuels.

@CindyCoops
Which "infrastructure bill"? Because there have been a lot of them. '
Your claims about the climate are wrong. Your claims about the effects are wrong. Your claim that yet another bill for more taxpayer money to be misspent would have prevented a catastrophe is wrong.

You're the joke bro. People need help right now, not a fkn lecture

@realBKPerry
🚨 Climate Change (formerly known as Global Warming, until we hit an inconvenient cooling trend) is a hoax and a MASSIVE grift!!! What they should be studying is how government-funded programs are actively using weather modification.

If everyone was aware of how many flood disasters are ravaging the planet lately, people would have a much better awareness and understanding of the climate challenge humanity faces. This is just the beginning.
The below thread compiles many of them.

was that van gogh painting responsible for the warming planet? if not she should count herself lucky. i hate radicals that destroy art work and other historical things to make a point. religious radicals love to do shyt like that. very taliban like.

i don't think thats the point, take stock of every natural disaster depictions in books, tv and movies ; you'll notice when people are trying to survive they aren't worried about artwork or anything like that. if you believe climate change will lead to increased natural disasters followed by famine, resource wars etc then the artworks don't mean much at all because they wouldn't in such a future. climate change is happening and a lot of people have their head in the sand about the very real ramifications of not preventing it or slowing human activity that feeds it. it doesn't make sense to compare their acts with those motivated by religion. they're not interested in destroying all art and it's doubtful they oppose van gogh philosophically or something to that effect.

@capitalweather
National Weather Service + National Hurricane Center are escalating their messaging given extreme threat Milton poses to Tampa and surrounding areas. @NHC_Atlantic calling the Cat 5 storm "extremely life-threatening" -- @NWSTampaBay warning could be most powerful in 100 years.

@DreamerMarcus_
Wow, it feels like even the weather wants to star in a drama series—it’s always suspenseful around here with these heightened hurricane plots!

@BHLevesque
Awful

@HuangBraveHeart
Sounds like Milton is throwing a big, windy party that no one wanted an invite to. Stay safe in Tampa!

@ahhokaythen
tampa has one trauma center and it's on an island at sea level

@PushaTPerks
Maybe I’m just missing it. But if it’s going to be a cat 3 but landfall, why does it matter how strong it is now?

With these back to back storms do you think Americans will finally start taking climate change seriously?

I work heavy in property insurance and every day is legit worse than the day before. Insurance companies have had the data on climate pattern changes for essentially two decades now but nobody seems to care.

I don't know what it's going to take to get folks to understand.
