your miscalculation is that there will be an 'event', or 'level', at some point, that makes people give a fukk about climate change
when the truth is that no one will ever give a fukk, because the process is just too gradual
Imo it will be a series of extreme events that will gradually make more people care about climate change. I agree that so far climate change has been gradual. However, we're very close to tipping points being tipped. Once that happens warming will acclerate rapidly and it will be absolutely terrifying. Unless we tech our way out of this we'll be seeing some very disturbing and catastrophic events take place in our lifetimes. And it happen a lot sooner than most people think.
