The Environmental Protection Agency announced on Thursday that it will not regulate a chemical used in rocket fuel that has been linked to issues with the thyroid gland, which is critical for growth and development of babies and children. The agency found that upwards of 620,000 people might be consuming water contaminated with concerning levels of perchlorate.
