rich bytch is ole girl from Salem. gonna hv to rewatch the pilot tho
*ahem*
Now while I won’t shyt on this tv show too aggressively, I do want to say I appreciate Amazon going all out and spending money on trying to build huge fantasy shows. But what ticks me off is their choices in what to make. Between this and LOTR something was bound to flop or be terrible. shyt maybe both.
I watched one episode and honestly my mind was made up after about 6-7 minutes. These fairy people running away from the revolutionary soldier people, pretty much in a straight line. These soldiers chasing after them with what seems to be shytty ass muskets and just absolutely mowing the fairies down with stunning accuracy. Head shot after head shot. But as soon as she gets to the edge....she FLIIIIIIIES the fukk away like she has no physical limitations to flying and they could have done so at any time.
This just gives me the vibe that it’s stupid fantasy. Not even really trying to make sense or have real rules established. Just to make a pretty love story where the fantasy element is there to maybe bring in people who like that kinda thing but not really too much. How Star Wars is towards the sci-fi genre.
What pisses me off more than the mediocre content of this show is that the budget for this project could have been spent on any of the many fantasy stories out there practically BEGGING to be adapted for the screen. Why is this getting adapted over The First Law? The Stormlight Archive? The Painted Man? Malazan Book of the Fallen? Mistborn?
What about this story was so intriguing that Amazon threw all this fukking money at it for? Because based off this first episode and the reviews I’ve seen there is nothing about this world that tells me it’s a story that deserved this level of production or effort. “OH LOOK AT THE PEOPLE COEXISTING WITH MONSTERS. WHAT A FOOKIN WILD CONCEPT.”
fukk out of here with your diet fantasy zero bullshyt.

I think you should keep watching, breh. Can't just go in like that off one episode.
Co-sign that a First Law and Malazan series should be made though.

There are definitely fantasy stories that deserved to be made before it, it's definitely not lotr tier fantasy but it's definitely well made and fun to watch. Kind of reminded me a bit of that will smith joint on netflix with the orcs, flawed but really entertaining.Sorry brehs I was a lil aggressive this morning. I may give it a shot again in the near future. I honestly went into it wanting to enjoy it because we don’t get enough big budget fantasy.
