Anyone read the manga deep in it and if you are does this do anything other than being a generic shonen? I've read the first chapter awhile back while decent wasn't really doing much from what I read.

How about you just read it and see?
All I'll say is that it's been successful among all possible groups of manga fans including people who asked questions like you and those who stopped liking Shonen.
People who get hung up on whether something is generic or if it uses tropes just make things harder on themselves.
Those words never enter my mind when I'm reading or watching something, just quality.

i just prefer anime, imo the manga can never compare to moments like this

It can for me, I liked everything from the fight episode more in the manga other than the last few minutes fight (the rest of the episodes fight I liked more in the manga), but I liked the actual plus ultra punch more in the manga

Just watched All might rescuing the kids before that episode I wasn't sure about this.

And Gurren Lagan is the one and only anime that I didn't like, I think I dropped it after 4 episodes so I'm surprised to see the positive reactions.

Last 2 episodes were kinda weak but overall this show is fire

When does season 3 start and do they dub after each episode or do I have to wait til after season 3 airs for a english dub?
