My first thought, which is unlikely, is that he's a take on Resurrection Man. Basically, his powers would be a form of immortality where while he can die, he always revives. The twist is that when he revives, he gets a different super power. The power can be as basic as simple X-Ray vision to something crazy like atom manipulation or Superman-level strength.I noticed that too... Also, I wonder who this issa kid supposed to become tho???
He's the kind of obscure character the CW shows love, but he could as easily be an original character.

Magneto aint gonna have shyt on me...Oh the pod kids are def gonna be wilding out, but the more immediate concern are the users who weren't picked up by the ASA. As an aside, I wonder if they'll follow up on that mention from S1 of there being other vigilantes in this world.
