Any one of the controversies that he has faced would have ended any other politician's career. But the fact that there are a constant flurry of new controversies with Trump makes it so that people can't focus in properly on any one of them. What's more is people become desensitized. The end result is that the controversies don't impact him much.

That is why he is teflon.
Mr. Burns' diseases and viruses encapsulate this point perfectly.

How? Most of them regurgitated what he said with no second thought.
They did, but now they have plausible deniability.

With the exception of Lindsay Graham and Jim Jordan I expect the GOP will start to cool on Trump.

They won't turn until he is no longer president.
They have the thread it. Too late Nd they are screwed, too early and they get eaten by Trump's base. This is as good a time as any to try to establish a level of sanity in the GOP.
