How did Kentuckyians manage to elect a Democrat for governor but keep voting in Mitch McConnel as senator? I don't understand that. I know nothing about the politics in Kentucky

Maine, Ohio, Louisiana, split ticket voting no matter where for highest level makes you want to smack these cac voters into 2022. They just really, really hated Matt Bevin (the former Republican incumbent). Was basically a Doug Jones type of situation where he won due to running against an especially unpopular opponent.

His dad was a relatively recent Governor and also was running against Bevin (who was awful) and barely won lol

I wouldn't give them too much credit

They’ve been voting for Mitch since the 80s. It’s much harder to knock him off. Running a female candidate probably hurt too.

All I know is GA is building the blueprint for the south and with Blacks returning back to the south and being such a force in numbers in southern states they better be prepared to take what works if everything turns blue next week.
