its all about '22 at this point
we got the orange fakkit outta the white house and stopped the bleeding. if the dems flip 1 seat in GA, they also have a favorable map in 22 and should be able to net another one, and at that point should use it to pass a ton of tfavorable voting laws
Obviously Biden won't be able to get much thru the Senate. The point is that pandering to Republicans does nothing to help the situation and just makes Dems less likely to win future elections.
There are basically two ways to go -
1. Biden dikkrides Republicans and panders to them; they block everything regardless. Because he spent all his time pandering to Republicans, Dem voters are less likely to turn out in 2022 and the GOP probably wins the house.
2. Biden tells Republicans to either do their job and work with him, or kick rocks while he writes EOs. They block everything regardless, but at least Dem voters are fired up to vote them out in 2022/2024.
I'd prefer the second option.

Biden is never going to get on stage in front of reporters and channel Tupac doing Hit Em Up.
The way he shytted on them yesterday was perfect and now you got the gop leadership telling their senators to not cause any trouble with their part of the election.
He may get more forceful after 1/20 but he's playing things well right now.

as far as biden extending an olive leaf to repubs...for right now, that is the messaging he has to project. if for no other reason, the optics of differentiating from the outgoing admin and saying he's honestly trying to unite. if he can come across as genuine then it puts him in a better position when he eventually uses eo's or rule changes to get shyt done. also puts dems in a better position for midterms and local elections.
that said, the gop is ruthless. biden and team better be ready to start tripping old ladies and pushing down kids to get ahead. at some point progress is more important than trying to bring traitors and saboteurs to the table.
