You forgot he was the beneficiary of hacked voting machines in FL that the FBI briefed him in which he had to keep quiet about? He ain’t running in 2024 when it comes out that Gillium actually won that race..

Lol. Breh. GOP has basically stolen 3 elections in 20 years and no one blinks an eye. There is a solid 45% of this country that will vote GOP no matter what. Trump committed several felonies damn near every day of his presidency and he still came within a cpl hundred thousand votes of reelection. DeSantis is 100% smarter and more disciplined than trump.

And Tom Cotton is going to fit right in with the super racists. I said it yesterday, Black Republicans are about to get their nicca wake up calls. They are about to see just how much they are seen as an other and I can't wait.

Respectfully disagree. They definitely are racist but part of this attempt at rebranding the gop as the "party of the working class" is going to include more outreach to the Black community.

And never forget - the strength of the GOP is that acquiring power is always the first priority. Before EVERYTHING ELSE. If they think it's going to win an election, there is NOTHING they will not say/do. And this election showed them that even with a historically unpopular president, that increasing their share of Black voters helped. That will also help them appear less "extreme" to the soft/moderate conservative suburban voters that also deserted them.

Can't wait to see it. Especially if the nominee is Tom Cotton (Hawley, maybe) and I don't see how they try to keep Trump's base and appeal to black voters. We'd have to really not be paying attention to fall for it.

If I said Tom Cotton has the same amount of charisma as a dead cow, I'd be offending dead cows.

Also way too soon to be talking about who would win what in 2024, especially since Biden has another month and a half before even being sworn in (not to mention any repub not named Trump would have to weigh whether to run against their daddy or sit out until 2028). People forgetting in here that in the couple years before 2008, the big debate was how Rudy and Hillary would fare against each other since at one time they were the presumptive favorites.

I don't disagree but it doesn't negate any of what I said. At this time, he's the best they can cultivate for a 2024 run.

They don't need a huge percentage. If they get 20% that is more than enough. A lot of Black folks aren't as emotionally/instinctually attached to the Dem party as in the past.

What if the GOP put in its electoral platform a commitment in writing to spend a cpl hundred billion dollars in predominately Black communities. I don't mean the Platinum Plan bs. I mean for instance free trade/technical education for any high school graduate; infrastructure renewal; Grants etc for black owned businesses etc. They could announce something similar for poor "rural" (aka white) communities as well. The GOP would have zero issue spending or committing to spend this money if they think it will win them an election.

And I would bet every penny I own that if a GOP candidate proposed this and the party forced their members to buy in and commit to its implementation that they would easily get 20% of the Black vote. There are a lot of Black ppl that just want to get their fair share and be left the fuk alone. And the danger for the Dems is that as a party they really can't attack the GOP on this issue. All they can do is point to history and suggest that these are empty promises. That strategy will work for many Black folks, but many will also be willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

He dont have Trumps charisma.

Doesn't matter. The GOP votes to obtain power. If he is the nominee he will get the votes. They're smart enough to fall in line when it matters. In fact, many on that side will probably be secretly relieved that they don't have to deal with trumps style of "charisma."

Tom Cotton would be the worst GOP candidate of the modern era. Just being racist won't help you win elections. Trump's ability to make stupid people in the midwest vote for him is his main strength. GWB is the best electoral politician for the GOP for the last 30 years he won twice with 2 electoral disadvantaged elections.

Cotton is definitely not top GOP candidate material. He has the personality of cardboard. DeSantis on the other hand, has a much better chance of making it out of 2024 if Trump doesn't run.

Wouldn't work. In no way would the GOP electorate accept anything that puts blacks or any minority on equal footing.

That's the main reason why the GOP will never increase their share of the black electorate. It's like squeezing a balloon. If they begin outreach to minority communities in earnest, their traditional voter will start peeling off. They know this. Better to keep the base coming back for more.
