I am as happy as anyone right now, but let's not lose sight of how fukked up the electoral college is

Biden is going to easily win the popular vote, by probably 6-7 million when all votes are counted. And yet, he was probably less than 100,000 votes from losing the election. Maybe much less.

It looks like Arizona is going to be very close and Biden may win it by just a few thousand votes (or maybe even Trump will win it). Georgia could still go either way, and even if Biden wins, it will be by a few thousand votes (or maybe just hundreds). I don't know what the final margin in Pennsylvania will be, but it will probably be less than 100,000, maybe much less, like 10,000-20,000. If those three states went to Trump, he'd be reelected.

It makes no sense that Biden is winning the popular vote so comfortably and it is still THIS FUKKING CLOSE
to be fair the same thing that gave Trump a victory in 16 gives Biden a victory here. Pulling off gains in select states that are solid and pulling off meager gains in others through flipping some red ones.

This was never gonna be a blowout. It was always gonna be close. And EC isn't going away. People gotta stop wasting breath on getting rid of the EC.

Instead focus on adjusting the party to appeal to different levels of people. And we haven't even given the party time to do that yet.

We have drudged through 4 years that have changed the political landscape forever. The EC is gonna stay. So we'll have to adjust.

Just relax and bask in the glory. And we gotta scrap this 'it was too close' talk. In a heavily polarized country it will always be close.

When many folks get a chance to step back, breathe and look at all this with about 10 hours of sleep under their belt they'll realize this was as good as it was gonna get under the circumstances.

Right now everyone is too close to it. And everyone is comparing it to past elections. Huge mistake. Unfair mistake.
