So progressives have to act dumb to court voters. And they also have to not talk about policy like Hillary and Biden. So basically they have to just barely not be Republicans to win. Got it.

Well my personal opinion is that the intelligence of Americans is low. So educate them.

So many ppl are uneducated about policy and the way government works. There should be an educational component in all campaigns. Ive been saying this for years and even tried to get my clients to do it but so far, no one has done it.

I’ve got few takeaways

1) Dems focused on Hispanics and peeling off moderates, and it didn’t work. Turning out the black vote and winning the suburbs worked in 2018 and they probably saved the day this year. It’s hard to fight when the redneck enclaves are increasing their vote totals by 10-15% and you can’t get a highly targeted group to show up or vote for you.

2) Tom Perez has to go. I’m not saying Keith Ellison was the answer, but Keith Ellison was the answer. Getting Howard Dean out the paint before the 2010 midterms has been crippling to the DNC as a whole. Losing seats in the House and not completely taking the Senate speaks to not having a coordinated message regardless of location. Instead it speaks to the party supporting moderates who can’t close the deal while allowing them to come up with wildly different messaging that feeds right into the “no matter what they say, socialism/Soros/far left run them” to America’s uninformed electorate looking for a reason to not vote for Dems.

3) Mail-in and early voting was a referendum on Coronavirus and the economy. But by the time Election Day rolled around, media focus shifted to “pick your team” and Dems were roundly rejected. And that’s because the Dems made the focus their efforts to get Trump out instead to show how the House, Senate, and downballot races would help even if Trump won.

4) I’ve really enjoyed this thread. I’ve really enjoyed getting to banter, exchange ideas and ignore Nap with y’all. Yeah, cacs gonna cac. I think it’s great that no matter where we are from, what we do, and how much we disagree about this or that, we can teach, learn and expose agents together. Thank y’all.

BIG FACTS! Now, @19 No Covid has a point in that most people do become slightly more financially conservative once they have families unsettle down in into established careers, because they want to start leaving more for their families and paying less in taxes, but people don't generally change their politics on social issues as they get older.

I have been saying for the longest time that Gen Z is way more conservative than millennials. I'm interested to see how the media outlets handle this, because they seem to just call everyone under 40 a millennial no matter what their age is. But there's a distinction. I'm a millennial through and through, and at least 80% of everyone I grew up with is liberal. Gen Z ain't like us. I don't know what the difference is. I don't know if it's they want to be edgy and cool. But alt-right cats like Ben Shapiro and Steven Crowder have somehow been able to weasel their way into appealing to college-age people and young adults in a way that no right-wing people were able to do with millennials.

Gen Z might be the generation with the most conservatives since the Boomers. I don't know about Gen X, but Gen Z is definitely more conservative than millennials.

Millennials dealt with 9/11 and W firsthand

AOC doesn't apologize. She even went Yoho, she is not a punk like Warren(she sometimes does fight back) and Bernie.
AOC has a socialist tag to overcome (It's possible) and she has to get conservative dems on her side.

Interesting how this is mentioned. In my classes that i teach, I actually use the fact that trump speaks at a four grade level is rudimentary to a lot of us but it echoes your point, he's not using elitist or as I would like to say, intelligent or clever wording or phrases. Basic words and slogans are easy for people to grasp onto, especially when your level of understanding is low.

Maybe I'm wrong but I remember there being a narrative that things were gonna change once the old white people died out but these young white cats are just as racist as their grandparents.
I think it's more of a thing where old people won't ever change and the only hope is to wait until the next generations arrive.

But it's not old clueless cacs who don't know how use internet who are posting troll memes on thedonald and so forth. trump is cult status, breh
