Dems need to focus on building the liberal base instead of targetting fickle independents and moderates. Its a really simple formula what happens. GOP fukks up, Dems run a meet in the middle campaign, moderates think "Yeah thats what politicians need to do, work together" and give the dem a chance as a rebuke of the GOP. From there Dems are obstructed until the next round of elections and those same moderates that dont keep up with politics go "That dem guy did nothing Im voting for a republican." It may not be this way in every state but I know thats how its been going in Florida
