Arizona has less chance of going blue than PA, according to 538, but still a 70% chance for AZ. A popular vote margin prediction of 2.9% is likely within the margin of error.

I don't claim expertise like 538 but I actually marginally disagree with them here. AZ is so lopsided in the outcome for Maricopa, and that county is going heavy for Biden and Ds this time especially with the Senate pickup looking so likely. I've had it out of contention for a minute. PA is more questionable even though it looks OK down to the wire, I wouldn't be completely shocked if it is contested past Wednesday and ends up disappointing ultimately. The Southwest is a new D stronghold and it's not going backward.

3 of the swing state Hillary lost in 2016 had thin margins. The 2 that didn't we can pretty much write them off for Trump but if PA MI and WI go our way we are good.

I don't see Texas going blue but I see it being very close. Maybe razor thin.

Are you saying this because they generally vote Republican or for other reasons? I didn't predict any of them to flip except NC (and AZ which you didn't list) however the demographics have changed and there appears to be a very high voter turnout this year..

I think you can absolutely say "it's never been done." and be right most of the time but there are instances like in 2016 where Trump slightly won in the rust belt where states you didn't think could flip, did.

The fact that this is even relatively close shows how toxic our political atmosphere is. Anyone whose done the job trump has on coronavirus alone should lose in a historic landslide regardless of party affiliation. It sucks that we are even discussing Penn as the swing state considering it’s been blue 6 out of the last 7 election cycles and it’s Biden’s home state.

It just simply comes down to racism. They were happy to get a person who shares their racist ideologies. I cant tell you how many folks I’ve heard say “I like that he’s not a politician and speaks what’s on his mind”. Which is code for “I like that he can express the racist views that I have”

The omission here is demographic changes in the electorate. It’s not the same electorate from 12 years ago, 8 years ago or 4 years ago. That absolutely has to be taking into account otherwise nits just Iowa
