I think i may start donating every time I see a propaganda hit piece on Bernie, but I may go broke doing that

:whoa:

Whoah, slow your roll big dawg.

Medical debt and student loan debt is one thing.

But there ain't enough cake in the galaxy to cancel the type of debt we'd be in if we donated at that pace.

No Krystal is right. Those boomers and Establishment types are gonna fall in line mostly, where else they gonna go?!
Dems gotta appeal to those who don't vote, that's how they expand. The likely voters doesn't get the job done anymore. Evidence: Trump is president. :scust:

True. At the same time, I have whiplash from a progressive i.e. Ben Jealous winning in Maryland's primary by overperforming polls... then went up against an incumbent with unlimited money and siphoned off Dem support :snoop:

I understand the dynamics are completely different... Hogan is popular, MD Dems are more establishment types.. but still..

I think FAH was talking about the Primary. So those voters have a few places they will go if Bernie doesn't appeal to them. Gotta win the primary before you can get to the general. :francis:

I love Krystal but on this, she may be wrong. And its obvious she's coming at this from legit experience of how bad the Dems are on... yet..

Dem primary voters want optimism, not divisiveness. I understand Bernie is getting populations who do not vote but at the same time if you want to EXPAND your support, you gotta appeal to the regular Dem primary voters and a lot of them are the boomers who absolutely despise Bernie even though his plans will at the end of the day benefit them if they aren't already well off..

I'll be honest, I don't think that's possible. I mean, you can see microcosms of the Boomers in that Primary thread where a lot of heads are fairly well informed on a number of candidates but really don't know much about Bernie's platform at all. Nap's debunked propaganda plays in that thread and gets repeated at times. For Bernie, nothing he does or says will change their minds. He has to inspire new voters bc the well has been poisoned for far too many (unfairly of course but it is what it is). I think the polling data vs the fundraising numbers kinda shows this well. The volunteer numbers too. Bernie's got a huge chunk of voices from the establishment that have been pushing for him to just drop out, meanwhile he's out fundraising everyone and top three in all polls while we're about to subjected to TWELVE candidates on stage. But if you watch any of the news stations that typical Dem primary voters tune in to, the narrative is bananas fam. He's gotta win the Primary by attracting new voters and then count on the establishment to actually be realistic about the differences between himself and Trump once their preferred candidates drop out. That's his only path.

The difference here between why Bernie may need a different approach compared to primary runs of the past is that there has never been a candidate with such a clear bias and disdain against them, coupled with an intentional silencing of their messaging and support that I can recall.

Trump may have been clowned, mocked, and ridiculed, but he got wall to wall media coverage.

Bernie is getting all of the ire that Trump did with none of the coverage benefit.

I think there's definitely room for him to approach the line more of questioning Warren's approach to certain issues and calling out the b.s. hurled in his direction without stepping over it.

If he truly does "welcome their hatred" like he quoted FDR, then embrace it to the fullest.

My point still stands, he has to get people who don't usually vote and contrast himself from the rest of the Dem field even people he is friends with.

This is dangerously true.

Funny that people deliberately choose to ignore this. Media (CNN, MSNBC, ABC, FOX, CBS, etc) covered him constantly, 24/7.

They liked the ratings boost, # of clicks he gave them on a daily basis and made him more popular bc of that.

They are implicit in helping him rise to power.
