After hearing all the talented beatmakers in the beat tourney I feel like there are so much talent on this site alone. We can learn alot from each other (without giving away our trade secrets) on here. I have few questions myself from quantizing to mastering etc. It's an open question thread strictly about beatmaking and production.

There is going to be restrictions:

- No asking, "Where is this sample from"?
- Can you send me your drum kits?
I'll add on more later.

please someone help me on the easiest method for laying down baselines on FL studio :sadbron:

Get a nice cheap MIDI keyboard first.

Also, any sine wave soundfont or synth sounds you can find can be turned into Sub Bass very easily (sub bass is really just a low sine wave)

Question for everybody...what hardware/software are you using to lay your tracks?? Some of you have some VERY intricate beats.
Right now I'm using Reason 5 and Cakewalk Sonar for mixing. I also use a virtual keyboard.

Maschine to make the beat and presonus studio one to lay down my tracks when I'm not feeling lazy...most of the time I just use Maschine only

I started off with reason 5 and I used adobe audition to chop my samples.... using software only was very difficult and not fun at all lol

A lot talent on her man I would think y'all dudes are using multi million dollar equipment

anyone got any tips for tempo switching in fl?

i'm trying to remix something with a tempo change in it and i've figured out how to properly automate the bpm but it ends up stretching the vocals too, which obviously, fukks the whole song up.

Im on FL10 a couple vsts Ive collected throughout the years no midi Im all laptop keyboard lol its not really the software that makes it sound good its what you do with the sound itself how you tweak it (filters, osc, arp, eq, ect). I actually got presets of sounds and I save them just keep using them till I come across something else.

FL studio 9

Don't mix in FL, the quality of the track will be diminished if you do. Also try to get outside effects instead of using the ones that came with the software. If you want to get the best out of FL don't use stock sounds/fx/etc, import your own stuff.

I use FL to create all of my beats then track em out to Audition for the mixing. I also use the waves mercury package for all my effects and I've imported all my samples/drums that i use on my tracks...FL stock sounds are very low quality.
