Brehs and Brehettes, I know awards season has been in swing for a while but with the SAG award nominations being out this morning, I figured we needed a central spot for the season, which is probably my favorite time of year as a movie fan. Place your bets, talk about who got snubbed, who should've won, who should've been thrown to the bushes, or just brush up on some movies you never heard of and performances that went under your radar. Also, all of these nominations and awards are a good precursor to the academy awards so pay attention to who's on the board and who's not.

Still need to watch a lot of these movies before I can vote. But I'll discuss what I can for now.

They snubbed Bill Murray for sure.

@hexagram23 can we get this stickied please.

Word? From what I hear the movie was ass cheeks and he was just ok
It took a while for me to get used to the accent and his rotten attitude, but he did a hell of a job becoming that character. Not the greatest movie, but he def deserves a nomination for that role. I couldn't even believe I was watching Bill Murray at times.

:camby:Steve Carell getting a nom. and I don't see any black actors up there either.

Homie who's playing MLK is getting buzz for the academy though. Although not getting a SAG nom may hurt his chances but we'll see. But I've been hearing Selma and his performance is the one people are going for

I completely forgot they have tv awards. I got the list from a movie site though so they were probably only concerned with film
Yea, I stan tv more than movies these days so when these lists come out I usually jump to the tv noms. Most of those movies haven't even come out yet.

BTW, do you watch shows like Homeland and The Affair? I don't see you in those threads.

I never got into homeland but to be fair I've never watched an episode and by the time it was even on my radar I felt like I'd be a hop on and wouldn't know anything going on. I've been meaning to watch the affair but something always comes up so I'll eventually check it. The main shows I check for nowadays are arrow, flash, newsroom, walking dead, mad men, boardwalk when it was on and game of thrones and ray Donavan. And of course I watch plenty of comedies and even stuff like Once upon a time and Scandal and White Collar. I love tv so Im always open to watching something. If it can hold my interest is another thing entirely but as a latchkey kid, tv has always been my thing

Yea get on The Affair. It's a really good drama mystery show with actors from The Wire in it. I wanna get on The Newsroom cause I've heard great things. And I know you like that show Justified which I've been meaning to watch too, but need to get around to it. Shows like Once Upon A Time I'm ashamed to say I watch every week. I dunno why. Something about hot woman dressing up like princesses and witches.:noah:

:heh:Snow white got fat af though.

Said the same thing till I realized she's pregnant then I felt like an ass lol. She looked like a boy in some scenes son, threw me for a loop like what the hell is prince charming into?? And damn near every woman on that show is :takedat: especially the evil queen

Yeah psh how can I forget Justified? That's my favorite show on TV right now man and it's a good time to get into it if you got Amazon prime, every season is up to watch you should get on it.

Ok that makes sense now. She stands out like a sore thumb now. The evil queen is so hot. Even Juliet from lost was looking fine af. They do a great job of casting for that show. I'ma get on Justified soon.

Did you watch Nightcrawler breh? How you feel about Jake's nom?
