Some of us charge our phones at our desk at work and occasionally want to use the phone when its charging, among numerous other use cases that one would charge and use their phne at the same time

This is why I never understood the hype behind wireless charging. If I can't use it while it's charging I don't see the advantage.

My guess would be that and the facial camera. It scans frequently to see if youre still looking while you are and are not using the phone. I do believe you can change the scan rate tho.

Kinda like the hey Siri feature being a battery drain when it was first introduced, thus it could only be used while plugged in.

If I can use passcode for Apple Pay I'll turn that face I'd off. I don't need nothing extra taxing my battery.

I disable background app refresh, that motion icon feature, damn near everything and still don't get solid batt life.

As time goes by I get less and less enthused by the X. I was gonna go for a 7, but the CPU in that 8 got me thinking about picking it up. Ill have to settle for 64gb on that one though so I'll have to see..

I got the 8 Sunday and haven't put a case on mine yet

I'm bad with phones but honestly. I liked the 6 more than the 7 and 8, which to me all have been the same phone.

It also covers privacy, explaining that Face ID is just like Touch ID: protected by the Secure Enclave and handled all on-device, using years of established security protocols. Accessibility and safety are also topics Apple addresses.
In fact, developers do not need to update their Touch ID apps for those apps to work with Face ID because the systems are the same.

Did not know about the bolded. That's good to hear because I'm so used to touch ID with basically all my apps.

It's definitely not a sleek as the 6 & 7. I thought it was because of the battery that's the in the 8

It is about as thick as the 5 was
