It evolves the shield from white,blue,purple then Red. With red being even stronger then the Gold shield. It keeps evolving the more damage you do.

Yup, rell explained it. It keeps the damage recieved from earlier if a player is killed wearing it. So if u pick it up late match and its already built up u got 225 health potentially
