In the Silver Lining

Always wondered about the African guitar how it sounded the way it did...if I'm understanding video correctly, apparently not only is it tuned differently, but they'll place a string and put it in a different part of guitar to play faster.

Who are some of your favorites?
you mean wedding songs or just in general? thats a hard question tbh :pachaha: Im not the most knowledgeable on the subject and when I do listen its mostly to older stuff. I dont know if I have any specific favorites but some big names you can check out are tsehaytu beraki, abraham afewerki, wedi tukul, wedi tikabo, yemane barya, eyasu berhe, kiros alemayehu etc... idk bruh it's very subjective what type of songs you like. There used to be a series called Éthiopiques where they would put out songs from different regions in ethiopia (when eritrea was still part of ethio) and vol 5 was tigrigna music

some random songs

or some more modern music:

Maybe check out ethiopian tezeta music. I enjoy it even though I can't really understand much amharic. Tezeta means "nostalgia". It's more slower jazz type music
