‘For Life’ Premiere Demo Rating More Than Triples In Live+35 Multiplatform Play

Following a modest linear Live+Same Day debut, ABC’s new midseason legal dramaFor Life is showing some strong digital legs.

After 35 days of delayed viewing on linear and digital platforms, the series debut of For Life grew to 8.6 million total viewers and a 2.53 rating among Adults 18-49. That is an increase of +5.4 million total viewers and by +242% among Adults 18-49 from Live+Same Day to Multiplatform+35 Day.

Without multi-platform play factored in, For Life‘s 18-49 rating rose by +100% from its Live+Same Day to s Live+35 Day, the biggest playback increase for any new broadcast midseason debut — scripted or unscripted — this season.

For Life executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is a special guest star in tonight’s episode, “Do Us Part,” in which Aaron (Nicholas Pinnoc) struggles to balance the demands of his own case with the needs of an inmate who’s fighting for the right to marry his dying girlfriend.

50 Cent, Nicholas Pinnock, fellow star Joy Bryant and series creator Hank Steinberg will be going live on Instagram during the episode’s East Coast airing tonight. They will go live at 6:45 PM PT/9:45 PM ET on 50’s Instagram account, @50cent.

The drama, a co-production from Sony Pictures Television and ABC Studios, stars Nicholas Pinnock as Aaron Wallace, Indira Varma as Safiya Masry, Joy Bryant as Marie Wallace, Mary Stuart Masterson as Anya Harrison, Boris McGiver as DA Maskins, Glenn Fleshler as Frank Foster, Dorian Missick as Jamal Bishop, Tyla Harris as Jasmine Wallace and Timothy Busfield as Henry Roswell.

Really loving the show but there’s TWO things I don’t like that kind of take me out of it

Maybe its the writing or the framing of the episode but this last one really rubbed me the wrong way with the White Supremacists Vs 50 and his crew they framed the plot like the White Supremacists being in charge was better than 50 and crew because somehow the White Supremacists are more “civilized” in running shyt like the phones and showers:gucci:. They also framed the one WS getting tortured by the brothers as more vicious and inhumane than any of the bullshyt the Nazi’s were doing the lrevious fee episodes.

And the Warden has a HUGE issue with Aaron defending 50’s character talking about “is it worth your soul” but barely gave him any shyt about defending a WS who allegedly beat up a guard in the previous episodes:patrice: shyt just rang false to me.

Also the Wife fukking the Best Friend storyline needs to come to a SWIFT end because i’m not buying it. The best friend literally tells Aaron’s daughter “I love you and I love Aaron too”. nikka WHAT:mindblown: How you claim to “love” this man and trying to help get him out of jail but you fukkING HIS WIFE!?? AND MOVED IN?!!?:wtf:

If the series had started with Aaron and the wife already divorced and her semi moved on but still conflicted and trying to help him it would have been a little more realistic. But as it stands that shyt irks me to no end...

I think her problem with Aaron defending 50's character is she knows he's in there clearly because he wants to be and will harm anyone to be on top. Not sure if the WS had as extensive of a rap sheet that 50's character had. Dude purposely does shyt to remain in prison...that's a dangerous mufukka.

I get that but like I said the way it was framed and/or written I was fukking with it. A White Supremacist, no matter his rap sheet, is still a white supremacist. There are NO redeeming qualities so I just felt like they should both be portrayed as equally bad and not as 50’s crew is so much worse.

Again just something that irks me but doesn’t really impact my enjoyment of the show enough to stop watching

Yeah I feel you. Oz was kinda the same way with Schillinger having the guards showing the Aryan Brotherhood favoritism over the black folk.
