Interesting portal entry...especially considering he's doing it after the worst game of his career on the biggest stage.
Even if Jase comes back, he would still be a starter next year, the 2 & 3 positions are essentially interchangeable in Izzo's system, and we don't have an experienced 3 who can score anyway.
My guess is, he wants to play only PG which would be his "NBA position." Realistically he'll likely never play in the NBA, but if he is to do so, he needs to showcase that he's a capable PG. He's shown he can run point, that's what he played in HS, but he's more of a scoring PG, and lacks the vision of a true PG, his passing ability isn't quite crisp enough to be a PG. He made lots of risky passes throughout the year, half-court lobs and stuff in transition that were very low percentage of coverting. His lay-up package and finishing ability are both fairly average too. Streaky shooter who can shoot 40%+ from 3. Can likely give you 14/5/3.5 as a starter next year.
He'll be missed and best of luck to him, def a dog player who will give it his all.
