It wasn’t even the Bey part, it’s the whole focus on his boycott, telling them they don’t get shyt right while he and his wife have been aptly awarded, subliminals to other artists. Sorry, but at some point I’d like to see Jay better represent the station he’s achieved in life.

He acknowledged the DMX snub and bowed down. He would have never been able to do that years ago. It was beautiful.

My Pops Forever RIP
It’s criminal given who did win it. It’s not Beyonce vs. every artist in history. It’s Beyonce vs. the people for that year. And based on their own recent history she should’ve won. Giving Beck that award over here after giving it to Swift over Kendrick for record sales purposes made 0 sense. And I’m not a Beyonce fan. Hiding behind subjectivity is how people get away with doing bullshyt. It’s not subjective. Every year we hear a reason why someone won and then the next year someone else wins by a completely different form of logic and it’s usually to award whoever white old people want to award that year. The Oscars are subjective and there’s much less controversy around who gets selected because they are consistent in their bias. You know what you signed up for.
everyone thought last year was gonna be the ultimate "aight we're gonna give you this one to get it over with" and they gave it to Harry Styles.

at this point, it's never gonna happen and now if it ever does, we're gonna think the Grammys did it out of pity.

I liked the second half of Jay Z speech cause it’s all true and way overdue to be said on stage by someone who won’t suffer consequences for it :yeshrug:

A black woman hasn’t one AOTY in 25 years that’s crazy. However you feel about her music, Beyoncé getting snubbed 3 times is crazy, especially for Lemonade and Renaissance and who they lost to. Taylor Swift potentially breaking a record for AOTY is undeserving and also insane. Adele and T. Swift being set up as unbeatable at the risk of deserving black artists is bs. We all know it but it’s always good to reiterate. He didn’t lie.
I didn't catch the speech, don't care enough to give them viewers to be honest.

That said, every single year they do this to all Black hip-hop and r&b artists who got bossed up that year. Time and time again.

One year it's about artistry, the next year it's about numbers.

They always moving the goalpost to never reward the Black artist who made waves and earned the limelight and spotlight that year.

Holding back from giving them the pinnacle of their awards is the only thing they can cling to after winning the people over.

They just some straight up haters. Plain and simple bitterness.

Her albums aren't that good

Yet she has more Grammys than Mike and Stevie and Prince combined
Agreed. It's not enough that she's won the most and is universally loved and worshipped.

I don't get the outrage behind her not winning AOTY when sooo many people have been snubbed and she still gets awards like crazy

All these years later, Jay finally going public with how he really feels and admitting that Kanye was right all those years ago :wow:

Somewhere Kanye is in the middle of an episode watching the Grammy's and pointing at the TV like that Leo Dicaprio meme :wow:
