Bernie's the only guy that can out-Trump Trump IMO. It's a populist, anti-corruption era. Trump is a fake populist on the right. I think the only way to beat him is with a legit populist on the left.

Not saying he'd beat him, but most of the polls seem to indicate he's got the best chances. I think he's the one most likely to win back some of the 4 rust-belt states (previously a Democratic firewall) that Trump picked up in 2016. A lot of those blue-collar workers voted for Trump because they thought he'd bring their jobs back; but obviously he lied. Bernie will legit try to help those people.

I just fear that trump will ramp up that anti socialist rhetoric and win by a landslide. With Bloomberg he’s going up against someone who has some of the same flaws he has so it’ll be tougher to galvanize his supporters

Nah. But the things Bloomberg is a Liberal on like gun laws and climate change would give Trump daylight to kill Bloomberg

Anybody other than maybe Bloomberg would "win" against Trump in a debate, but I'm not sure that even matters against him.

Trump could just fart everytime he got asked a question and wouldn't lose any votes.

It's really about showing your base you're their for them and they should turn out to vote. The debates in the general historically don't cause voters to jump from dem to republican or the other way around.

Putting up romney against obama was a mistake largely due to romneycare in massachusetts. He couldnt hit obama on the ACA. You dont want to match flaws in exchange for enthusiasm

When they get into the much bigger states like SC, NY, PA, TX, FL, CA & MI let's see if he gets any serious votes there. If Warren starts pick up steam in those states Pete is going to be fukked.

The problem is Bloomberg doesn't have any supporters. He's just got people that don't know enough about him YET to dislike him. Once they find out more, they won't show up to vote. I promise Bloomberg on the ticket will have record low voting turnout numbers. No one outside of the top 1% in this country wants Bloomberg to be the POTUS.

The Trump people are going to show up to vote regardless. Trump doesn't need to galvanize or fire them up. They're ride or die for Trump.

The only way to beat Trump is to get people on the left fired up too. There has to be some real grassroots excitement about someone. It's the only shot. No propped up corporate goon or billionaire is going to get anyone excited. We ran this experiment in 2016. Running on "Trump is worse than me" is a proven losing strategy.

Bernie or Warren might not be able to do it, but at least they have passionate supporters, and that is desperately needed right now.
