Yangs UBI gimmick is already getting staleIts not a panacea and presenting it as one for every single topic got tired quick.
His gimmick is a grift built on populist nonsense.
He wants to fund his UBI while getting rid of other safety nets and people opting out of other benefits.
The immediate problems I see are that 12000 doesn't make up for the loss of other benefits and most of them are based on children. So a parent gets 12000 and then a child is left without what a roof over their head, food, heat, and etc?
Maybe he would be getting pushback if he was polling over the single digits.
Its a legit criticism and he should be pushed back onto that Libertarian streak.
But no one else is talking automation or the idea of a basic income or a guaranteed minimum income or a negative income tax. Its definitely needed in these discussions and like him or not, he has a lot of out of the box ideas on his site.

Hickenlooper gets regularly attacked for his environmental record. He put no resistance on fracking. Colorado's air isn't great and I believe doesn't pass national standards from the EPA.
I think touring the south when she first announced has helped her pick up some of the black vote.

Yeah I think she's done too, but if they see highlight reels of this Samoan chick humiliating a black women in front of the world and feel she's being unfairly treated, I dunno they might feel a certain way.
