There hasn’t been a world war because the main parties in the first two have become deeply interdependent both economically and politically. A war between Germany and France isn’t unfathomable because the latter has them, it is because they’ve become allies and the main pillars of a political and economic union.

That the US and Soviet Union came close to a nuclear war over Cuba is not a shining endorsement of the utility of nuclear weapons at all. The US already has a huge military advantage without the threat of weapons it cannot deploy without assuring catastrophic loss. Even then Warren was not advocating for unilateral disarmament.

This isn’t an anti-establishment wave. People don’t see Trump as the typical government stooge administration. It’s an anti-corruption wave. Stability/sensibility is the key.

That’s why Warren and Bernie are riding Biden so closely.

The problem is that parts of the country hear anything progressive and it becomes easy for Republicans to pick apart with liberal labels.

I disagree. People still want the change they voted for in 2008. Trump tapped into that sentiment and got enough votes to win an election he should've lost against the establishment's darling.

Status quo candidates will not energize the base. People are feeling the crunch and just going back to the way things were Pre-Trump ain't enough.
