Thats another reason why an Awards show is a bad idea. I mean can you BLAME the players for taking themselves seriously? They aren’t rappers/actors/singers where their jobs require an element of charm and charisma. These guys spend hours upon hours perfecting the craft, playing 82 games a season, battling injuries, fighting for roster spots, dealing with the criticism that comes with having an “off” night. They supposed to be serious

They really need to retire this award show shyt after this year. Doing this shyt 3 months after the regular season just takes all of the meaning out of the awards, especially the MVP.NBA crowd just too cool for this shyt.
These awards are at their best when they add more stakes and context to the playoffs, not some afterthought tacked on after the finals are over and we already found out who really mattered.
Like Westbrook wasn't emotional as hell when he got MVP on this show??
