I'm hearing rumors about Aldridge being traded to San Antonio for kanter, McDermott and 2nd rd draft pick... i don't believe this AT ALL but the last player San Antonio was linked to on the rumor mill (from what I've read) was Rudy gay :patrice::hubie:

:patrice:

This dude Aldridge wasn't happy with Dame taking his shine in Portland & apparently doesn't want to be on the Spurs, he'd be miserable next to Russy & PG stuck being the 2nd or 3rd option every night:pachaha:

I don't think you understand how bad Aldridge was last year...

We are talking about a 32 year old big man coming off the second worst year of his career that was pretty bad all playoffs except for two games...

The best part about Aldridge is that he only has a player option after this year...but even that is scary cause the way the cap is going he might actually pick it up :merchant:

And prior to that year he was on a run of 5 straight all star selections :manny:

We're talking about 2 of the worst defensive players in the league as a return. Enes isn't that bad but for his contract and the fact that he straight up looks lost defensively so many times means he's most likely a bench player at best, and he has an old ass game to boot. McDermott is horrible if his shot isn't falling up, and he's so fukking slow on the court and can't guard anyone :pachaha:

I don't know if Pop can work his magic on these 2 :manny:

But seeing the return Indy got for a top 15, possibly top 10 player, this might be the best ya'll can get.

Our coaching staff turned LMA, a bad defender, into a top 5 rim protector...

Our coaching staff turned Dwayne Dedmon, a guy who nobody ever heard of...into a top 8 rim protector on a per minute basis...

So I don't have any doubts that the coaching staff could get Kanter and McDermott to be at least average on offense...

Also we have Kawhi...basically a shut down corner playing basketball...last year in the first 20 games or so both parker and gasol were bottom 10 at their position in defending the pick and roll and the spurs STILL had a top 10 defense simply because their are just places teams won't go with the ball when Kawhi is on the court... while teams would toast parker and gasol on pick and rolls they just ended up being long twos or midrange twos on one side of the court cause they were scared to death kawhi was going to switch on to them after they came off the pick...

I wouldn't be head over heels about that trade but at least on a per minute basis Kanter is one of the best rebounders in the league...

You know what LMA does good on a per minute basis...

Nothing

LMA wasn't really a bad defender or at least not to the levels of horror that Kanter is. He was so lost out there against Houston that he barely played. And Dedmon was indeed relatively unknown but he was a good defensive player before the Spurs.

Kanter is a great rebounder, especially on the offensive glass, but that's pretty much all he has on LMA (that + age). And Kanter is owed 17 then 18M (player option) for someone you don't expect to start or even play more than 24m a game. Your interior rotation would be 37yo Pau, Bertans, Lauvergne, an aging injured David Lee and Kanter :merchant:

Younger than LMA, cheaper than LMA, with the same contract length as LMA (1 + a player option)

Just by virtue of not being 32, not coming off the second worst year of his career, not being a headcase, and not being a weirdo, this would at least be a trade i wouldn't complain about...

We are going to lose some games because Kanter is just an atrocious defender who can't guard anybody and we get torched...just like last year we lost some games cause teams just dared LMA to shoot the 18 footer he is so known for but he just couldn't seem to do better than 6 - 17...

LMA biggest issue is he's a moody ass weirdo who seems out of it so often. A change of scenery will probably do him good but I can't see how he'll react to being 3rd fiddle in OKC if this goes down :dead:

He signed with yall to be the heir to Duncan but didn't expect Kawhi to turn sayan this quickly.

Right...which is why he will be just fine being a 3rd option behind russ and PG...because he has proven that when all you really need him to do is be a second scoring option and make wide open jumpshots...well he will fukking have the second worst offensive season of his career...

His real problem is that he is just not mentally built to be a number two guy on a title team...he has to either be a number one guy on first or second round exit playoff team or he has to be the 3rd guy on a championship team...even his one monster game against houston was goosed because i will go to my grave thinking harden was out partying the night before and still zooted of molly or acid or something...dude was just literally throwing the ball out of bounds and seemed like he had no idea what was going on during the game...
