No the Summer League is for unproven players and talents to showcase their game.

Wiggins a proven player in the league but unproven talent. Did he improve his jumpshot? His handle? How would he double teams? Crunch time play/leadership?

You know, most of the things that influences wins and losses?

LMAO you thinking Wiggins is too big for Summer League? No wonder you'd be a shytty GM and coach, just like the one's in Minessota.

If Lavine is out there Wiggins can and should be out there as well period

Did he improve his jumpshot? NO.

His handle? YES

How would he double teams? MIXED BAG.

Crunch time play/leadership? He never played in crunch time and they're not asking him to lead.

The only reps that matter for Wiggins are the ones he needs with Rubio. Besides the rooks and invitees, the team's not gonna learn something new from the remaining guys. The sophomores /juniors are there as guides who have been there before.

They're not comparable.

he looked good for the cavs summer league maybe if a team saw him in this years summer league they'd let you guys trade him for some cap space or a late rd pick.

any news on potential trades for him? I thought TOR or Portland would of went after him.

No. He has no value and nobody trades for anyone based on summer league. Bennett really can't do anything to get meaningful PT at this point.

Mudiay already proved he can succeed as a pro,you must forgot he averaged 19,6,6 in China,we'll see what happens when they slip under that screen,it won't make a difference he'll figure it out.

Russell won't even be able to get around screens, slow ass first step, gonna get him jammed every time on the screen and role
Brag about a player beating up on unathletic Asians and over the hill former NBAers brehs

what if he got injured?? then everyone would be shytting on them for playing their #1 pick rookie of the year franchise player in the summer league. wiggins stands to benefit nothing from playing against bums, 82 games is plenty enough to get reps.

He can get injured during scrimmages in practice. Unless he's dealing with some ailment then its ok for him to play at this stage of his career, dude turned twenty years old five months ago. We don't know if Wiggins is a franchise player yet. He hasn't' performed at a level that would suggest that he is, and the point of all these exhibitions is to give him reps to help accelerate the process. Its ok to say 82 games is enough for an actual star in this league but Wiggins is not that

they weren't gonna use him anyway, and truth be told, he plays so much, that it's not that Wiggins needs more reps. He needs to figure out to make more of his time when he's out there because he wastes too much of the 37 mpg he plays

Part of that is developing a respectable jumper or handles to consistently break defenders down 1on1. SL would've been a good opportunity for him to show his progress & gain confidence in areas he wasn't good in his rook year. Its not exactly a big deal or anything but it doesn't really help him to not be out there

worst #1 overall pick ever just go ahead and release him at least he can catch on in europe or china for a bit longer.

That doesn't just develop in Summer League. Also, they iso'd him all the time the last 2 months of the year. His numbers were good, but it's not the kind of offense they should be utilizing anyway. Like I said, the reps he needs are reps with Rubio, because they'll lose an enormous amount of games if Ricky's not out there and Towns is their only facilitator.

I was never high on him at all for a lofty draft position. I've been saying the lakers fukked up taking him over okafor. Even Mudiay would have been better. Can you imgaine a backcourt of Mudiay and Clarkson? He gained steam for whatever reason and everyone drank the kool-aid. Mitch kupchak is delusional thinking he'll be a superstar. He has near elite vision, nothing else he does is elite. Any good wing defender in college locked him up. His numbers were inflated b/c Thad Matta gave him the keys and let him drive the team however he wanted. Who else was going to play PG for OSU? shannon scott? hell no.

exactly this. The game yesterday only showed what I already saw in college.

He's a better passing, much less athletic manu at absolute best. Parts of his game also sometimes reminds me of a L handed jrue holiday. None of these are bad ceilings for his career, he's just not the superstar he's been hyped to be.
You're wrong about Russell. :yeshrug:

Only thing you were right about is how elite his passing is. He's gonna wreak havoc for teams on the break. Anybody who wasnt an idiot saw how good his court vision was last night.

Rick Pitino. The natl championship surefire Hall of Fame coach Rick Pitino said that Russell was the greatest passer he had seen come out of college in 30 years since Magic. Rick Pitino's opinion on players > than some random coli nikka :yeshrug: I can even pull up the video of him saying it :yeshrug:

He was also one of the best shooters in the draft. Shot 41% from 3. But lemme guess that's only because ppl let him score tho right?
