I don't know why you're being defensive.

When someone says Player A is Player Z's floor, that means when Player A reaches his potential it should at the least be similar to Player Z. So not rookie seasons, not now, we're talking about in a couple years at least.
This was a bad post, so bad Gil dapped it. Since I been around Basketball, floor always meant where the player is right now. Matt Ryan has a high floor even though many question his potential, etc. You weren't being disrespectful, you were just wrong. Flat out wrong.

Idk, I thought floor has always been what they think the player should at least be when they reach their prime.

For example, if someone says that Al Horford is Karl Towns' floor, they're not saying that he's as good as Horford right now, but that when he reaches his prime he should be at least as good as Horford is. And then ceiling would be what they consider the best-case scenario.

Russell has to speed that jumper up. All these fade aways look horrible. Its a product of him not being able to get all the way to the rim but he is passing the ball well.

There is no reality where Russell is a better passer or defender than Mudiay NONE :russ:

Mudiay is more of guy who can get the ball to the right guy because he knows how the floor is spaced, ala LeBron James.

Russell is more of a thread-the-needle type passer who gets the ball through tight spots and generates buckets where it seems unlikely ala Rondo/Kidd

As passers it's unfair to compare the two, objectively speaking. As defenders, no one should care because PG defense is overrated.

Main thing about Mudiay is that he'll probably end up a John Wall type player that can stuff stat sheets and makes mature decisions with the ball, and the ball will probably always be in his hands so he'll always be able to make good passes happen.

Russell will need to step up as a scorer on and off the ball in order for his playstyle to work because his passing style is based on his threat to score.

I think your assessment of the passing is fair. I prefer Mudiay simply because the ball gets out of his hands quicker.

I have to disagree with the defense though because you are talking about 2 guys who have the size/length to guard 2/3 positions when they hit their physical prime, especially Mudiay. That is going to be valuable and allow their teams to place all kinds of guards and wings next to them.
