Not right now,I was just saying to my dude's,if we took everyone draft rankings away and just watched these guys play,I would think D'angelo was a free agent hoping to get signed instead of the #2 pick

It's not really about numbers in Summer League though, it's about the eye test--showing flashes. I seen a post that described it pretty perfectly, basically said Derrick Rose was trash in his 2008 Summer League but just based off the eye test you could tell he was going to be good because he was getting into the paint whenever he wanted and was the best athlete on the floor at all times. He wasn't finishing but you knew that was going to come. I don't remember John Wall's summer league stats but I remember that from what I watched of him, he looked shaky offensively but was shooting an ass ton of FTs because he was so quick/fast that he could get into the paint effortlessly. Was also racking up assists in his sleep.

Mudiay's numbers aren't terrific either but he's shown tremendous court vision, elite athleticism and the ability to get what he wants in the paint. D'Angelo has shown nothing. Even the things that were categorized as strengths for him are looking like weaknesses against YMCA bums.

Not liking what I saw out of the young brehs today in person.

Russell is just lethargic in action, and if he isn't going to create shots for others then he needs to be more aggressive on offense and look to score more. Didn't really look elite in any skill.

Randle needs to develop a jump shoot. Dude always beats his man on the perimeter but his finished are trash unless he can dump it off.

Clarkson was decent but forces to much which is understandable considering what he has around him.

Tariq was a pleasant surprise.

Upshaw and A.Brown were non existed. Nance jumper was broke.

I don't know brehs without Kobe I think we could get that top 3 pick.

:yeshrug:

This is why I don't think there is much hope for D'angela Russell

from 0:08-0:18

Watch...D rose misses both of those lay ups but how explosive he was driving to the lane and beating his man was all we needed to see.

Nobody was expecting D'angela Russell to come in a shoot 60% from the field and 50% from 3. All we wanted to see was something that can let us know that he could play at a high level. So far he has looked like an Undrafted Free Agent.

LWO needs to accept that they were fooled by the 40%+ benchmark from 3 in college and 2 bounce passes that caught wave on vine. It is what it is :manny:

Nah he sucked them first two games. Clumsy as ever, knocking teammates over, wind up shot. Don't let the numbers fool you. Tonight his play on the court was a positive. Couldn't say that about the first two games.

Nah I been watching, mainly to see how Zach looked, his first game was straight up trash, second game was cool, tonight is good,I just look at it as a plus for the Wolves, that he can hopefully come in and produce good minutes off the bench, but dude is very average tho,I agree with you there

Breh they both was first team fukk boy

This post doesn't even mean anything. You are a garbage human, hoping for russell to fail, because your team didn't take him.

That's some bitter loser shyt. But you're from philly, and THERE it's probably just considered some 'regular shyt'

how much of this is fueled by lakers hate? objectively speaking, he's passed the eye test for me. just like you said d-rose was getting into the paint at will but missing shots, d-lo's has shown that the savant like court vision folks praised him for is true. he had a couple of gems his first game, however in the last 2 games he's been tryin to thread the needle a little too many times trying to create highlight passes. its why he has so many turnovers. once he gets in rhythm with his teammates and they get familar with him, those turnovers will turn into sportscenter top 10 highlights. he's also as advertised in the pick n roll. we haven't run it alot, but the few times we have he's gotten good looks. he's missed those shots but they were good looks. those will soon go in cause he was a good shooter in college.

one area that has been a POSITIVE surprise, his defense. he's been able to keep opposing pgs in front of him thanks to a combination of his length and better than average lateral quickness. he's definitely gonna be a good defender at the next level. something we haven't had in LA at the PG position in 20 years.

im taking notes of all laker "fans" talking shyt about rusell

them be the same ones calling him russgawd in february

i promise y'all im not letting shyt slide

its amazing how no one is talking about towns going 4/15 from the field eventhough he went 1st overall. just goes to show this site revolves around the lakers. if the kid got drafted by philly, we wouldn't have a heard a peep from no one.

Lakers should've drafted Okafor.

if there's anyone we shoulda drafted, its porzingis not okafor. dude has mediocrity ala brook lopez written all over him.

i'd rather go with russell and try and bank on getting a superstar. if he ain't that, then lets go back to the well in 2017 and gun for Jayson Tatum or one of the other studs from that class.

you don't draft an average player in the top 3. you either go for the homerun (porzingis) or the strikeout (jan vesley) not the single (okafor/lopez).
