Love the Big Grams album.

The Chvrches album isn't bad. Doesn't seem as strong as their debut - there certainly isn't a 'The Mother We Share' or 'Science/Visions' on here - but I need more listens still.

Didn't like the Big Grams much at all really. But I think Phantogram is average as fukk anyway so I shouldn't have expected more

Enjoyed Ought's new album but nonetheless its a step down from their last one

New Deafheaven is good, but lacking the cross-genre appeal to make it great for me personally

First 2 songs are fine but a bit too genre heavy

Next two songs are pretty good

Last song is really great and I wish the whole album had that style

Overall an 8/10. I didn't think I would give it that high of a score after I was finished with the first couple songs, but the last 3 really elevated the game

Well yeah, thats death/black metal for ya

I'm generally not a fan of the genre and screaming vocals ain't my thing, but one thing I liked about their last album Sunbather is the vocals were quietly buried very low in the mix, and it turned the screaming into more of an ambient "instrument" than a normal screamer. It reminded me a lot of My Bloody Valentine's Loveless in that regard. The whole album was a metal version of Loveless and I thought it was classic.

The vocals are a little louder on this new album, but still reasonable for me. But I feel you.
