I dig the Mac DeMarco quite a bit. The Future Islands isn't what I would call great on its own, but in the proper context of an album it seems like it could be a great track.
Really digging this Holly Herndon that was BNT'd on Pitchfork yesterday. Even though the first minute just sounds like a complete ripoff of the last Oneohtrix Point Never album, once the beats kick in it has its own identity. Really looking forward to checking out her next album now

Brehs I know this is the 2014 thread but I always kind of trail off with new music after October, so this Nils Frahm "Spaces" album from November never was on my radar.
I am an avid indie-pop lover but recently have started getting heavily into more modern compositional stuff. If you can dig slowly developing modern composition, check out this song below which unfortunately isnt similar to the rest of the album.. shyt is orgasmic for the last couple of minutes
This album also should have been #2 on the Metacritic 'best of' 2013 list with an aggregate score of 90, but it doesn't look like it hit the minimum 15 reviews requirement in time to make the list. There are about 4-5 songs on it that I am already in love with after one listen, but it has a bit more piano-only tracks than I wanted, I was hoping for a bit more electronica
