I believe Marion can be amnestied.
Nope, they used it on B. Haywood
The biggest problem with the Mavs is even if the cap is at 62 mil. They have to clear their whole roster use 5.3 mil in NBDL players. They would have to sign CP3 and Dwight at 16 a piece, Dirk is at 23 which equals 55 mil in just three players.
They would still have 1.7 mil to spend and sign a Full MLE deal for up to 5 mil.
If the cap is at 60 which is expected at min, Dwight and CP3 will have to take around 15-15.3 mil each. 30+23=53 will give Dallas enough room to fill the roster.
That's
CP3/filler
2nd rounder/filler
MLE/filler/filler
Dirk/filler/filler
Dwight/filler/filler
NBDL players bench
On top of that Dirk is regressing every year and is old and getting hurt often. His numbers are less than Al Horford and Horford is one of the top 15-20 players in the NBA right now.
Atlanta would have spend 25 mil with 9 players before we go to FA.
Al/Lou: 17.2
John: 1.25
Mike: .79
Mack: 884,293
Total: 20.00
Rookie cap capholds: below 4 mil
For the two 1sts 2,629,000 1st
Estimate Total: 24.00 mil
9 players on the roster.
If Dwight and CP3 takes 16 mil a piece 32+24=56 mil. Atlanta would still have 2 mil under the current 2012-13 cap.
If the cap is at 60 or 62. Atlanta could have up to 4-6 mil in capspace. Atlanta will still have enough to sign a player on the roster who is a FA like Kyle Korver and sign a MLE.
CP3/dp/Mack
Jenkins/Lou/dp
Korver/MLE/dp
Horford/Scott
Dwight/dp/fa
Atlanta is loaded.
